The Fitchburg Food Initiative is dedicated to ensuring that all residents have reliable access to affordable, sustainable, healthy food. In partnership with community members, local organizations, and experts, we will evaluate innovative models, including cooperatives, mobile markets, wholesaling, and access points, to address gaps in the city’s food economy. Our mission is to develop actionable, sustainable solutions that reduce barriers to food access, promote long-term affordability for residents, and strengthen neighborhood resilience.

The Fitchburg Food Initiative strives to combat this by empowering our community and addressing the rising food costs at the center of this challenge. We aim to support both working-class and food-insecure families by addressing the root causes of hunger and promoting access to affordable, nutritious food options.
